Job Description

Pay Rate: $23.75

1st Shift - 7:00AM to 3:30PM // 8:30AM to 5:00PM

Job Summary:

The Material Handler II is responsible for the efficient handling and shipping of materials and products within the warehouse. This role involves distributing materials, preparing shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The Material Handler/Shipper II will work closely with other team members to ensure timely and accurate movement of materials and products to support production schedules and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Handling:

    • Ensure materials are handled safely and stored properly to prevent damage or loss.
    • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
  • Shipping Operations:

    • Prepare, package, and ship orders to customers.
    • Ensure all shipments are processed accurately and on time.
    • Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
    • Verify shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of material movements, inventory levels, and shipments.
    • Prepare and submit regular reports on material handling and shipping activities.
    • Assist in the preparation of reports for management review.
  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any potential hazards.
    • Promote a culture of safety and ensure team members follow safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in material handling, shipping, or warehousing.
  • Proficiency in operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving materials.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, noisy).

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $14.41–$21.61.
