As a Senior Advisor, Counsel and Group Retirement Savings Oversigh, you play a key role in protecting the organization’s legal interests by ensuring the compliance of various actions. You assume a leadership and influential role with stakeholders on strategic and complex projects that are cross-functional and innovative. In this capacity, you contribute to the development and recommendation of strategic directions, business positioning, and product development. The nature of these files requires extensive and in-depth expertise in your field. You will collaborate across multiple teams and interact with a wide range of stakeholders from diverse areas of expertise, making strong interpersonal skills essential. Acting as a subject matter expert and advisor, you will serve as a resource for decision-making bodies. You will also respond to questions from various teams, requiring a pragmatic business sense and the ability to balance business imperatives with legal and compliance requirements. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Lead projects and mandates related to Group Retirement Savings (GRS) with significant scope and impact for the organization.

  • Advise and support colleagues and managers in positioning, planning, development, execution, and follow-up on strategic projects under your responsibility.

  • Guide teams in resolving issues and complex situations.

  • Identify and analyze problems, raise major issues, establish diagnoses, and make recommendations to relevant bodies.

  • Act as a liaison between the business sector and teams in Compliance, Legal Affairs, Taxation, and Privacy Protection.

  • Oversee the development and evolution of policies, standards, models, and programs supporting GRS strategic projects.

  • Represent the business sector on various industry committees.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in Law

  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Relevant experience in GRS

  • Knowledge of French is required

  • Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
