The Role:

The Medcan Dedicated Care Team is hiring an Operations Intern to analyze and improve the current onboarding process for Dedicated Care clients. The goal of the intern is to support the onboarding process, including the creation of a new onboarding form via OCEAN, updating policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other related documents. The intern would also assist with scheduling onboarding calls with clients for the Nurse Consultant Team, obtaining medical records, and data entry of medical information into the Cumulative Patient Profile (CPP) in the Accuro EMR system. The results will ultimately help the operations team streamline the client onboarding process.  

Our paid internship program gives students practical work experience, learning and development workshops, social outings, and an opportunity to network with our leadership team. You will be an active participant in designated projects and tasks, and be a member of a highly collaborate team.

The Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate onboarding calls for new Dedicated Care clients
  • Review current onboarding document and gain insights needed to revamp a new onboarding document via OCEAN platform
  • Create and update policies, SOPs and workflows related to client onboarding
  • Obtaining medical records from facilities via fax, phone and email
  • Data entry of medical information into the CPP of Accuro EMR
  • Other administrative duties as required

The Requirements:

  • Current 3rd or 4th year student in Health Sciences, Data Analysis, or related field with exposure to clinical research and qualitative and/or quantitative analysis and/or data analysis
  • Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Intermediate level in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset
  • Experience as a Research Assistant in some capacity is an asset

This is an internship expected to run full-time from January 6, 2025 to April 25, 2025. The incumbent will work 5 days/week between Monday to Friday during regular business hours, and must be able to work at 150 York St on a hybrid basis.
