Primary Function

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as an Inventory Analyst Supervisor. The Inventory Analyst Supervisor will play a critical role in monitoring and managing inventory requirements for our Third-Party Logistics (3PL) operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate inventory levels, optimizing inventory accuracy, building process improvement tools, and supporting operational efficiency.

Essential Duties

  • Lead inventory team to meet and/or exceed required schedule IAW contractual obligations.
  • Implement best practices in logistics and warehouse management to streamline operations. Monitor inventory levels and analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and potential issues.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy and alignment with system records.
  • Analyze inventory accuracy ratings, aging/dormant inventory, and acceptable stock levels to optimize inventory management processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to forecast inventory needs based on demand forecasts, warehouse capacity, and shipping schedules.
  • Utilize inventory management software and tools to generate inventory reports, forecasts, and analysis.
  • Implement inventory control measures and procedures to minimize, loss, exceeding capacity, and obsolescence.
  • Identify opportunities for inventory optimization. Coordinate with warehouse teams to optimize storage and handling practices to maximize inventory efficiency.
  • Review regular inventory reports and performance metrics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and evaluate inventory performance.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align inventory management strategies with business objectives.
  • Communicate inventory status, issues, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making and problem resolution.
  • Provide support and guidance to internal teams on inventory-related matters, including inventory transactions, adjustments, and reconciliation.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will oversee employees in the Inventory Management department.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to maintain accuracy and precision in inventory management tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and inventory audits.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including logistics, operations, procurement, and finance, to achieve inventory management objectives.
  • Knowledge of inventory auditing techniques, cycle counting procedures, and inventory reconciliation processes.
  • Understanding of inventory-related regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards, such as FIFO (First In, First Out) and LIFO (Last In, First Out).
  • Familiarity with logistics and supply chain operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or combined experience/education.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in inventory management, analysis techniques, process improvement initiatives, or logistics related roles.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software, Microsoft Excel, and other data analysis tools to manage and analyze inventory data.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data requirements and develop practical solutions.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients, internal teams, and external suppliers to achieve common goals.
