Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Staff Operational Technology Cybersecurity Engineer – 4172-3. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Huntsville, Alabama or Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel Program.

What You’ll Get To Do:

• Identify and assess cyber security risks to ICS and critical infrastructure networks.

• Helping to create and manage security monitoring, event triage, and threat detection capabilities for OT systems.

• Analyzing potential threats to mission and possibly joining teams to evaluate OT sensor deployment.

• Collaborating with site engineers and senior cybersecurity leaders to suggest actions to address incidents and known vulnerabilities.

• Design and implement security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and encryption.

• Monitor and analyze security events and incidents to identify trends and potential threats.

• Implement and maintain security policies and procedures to comply with industry standards and regulations.

• Provide technical guidance and training to other team members and stakeholders.

• Stay current with emerging cyber threats and technologies to improve the security posture of the organization.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications: 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 12 Years with Bachelor’s in relevant field of study, 10 Years with Masters, 08 Years with PhD or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
  • U.S. Citizen and Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Thorough knowledge of control system design, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Thorough knowledge of information security technologies as well as architectures and programs for IoT and/or Operational Technology (OT) Security, Governance, Risk and Compliance.
  • Thorough knowledge of Operational Technology/SCADA protocol analysis, including common protocols throughout industry (e.g., BACNet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.)
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT level 2 or above certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months from the date of hire.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Working knowledge of the Agile Development Framework.
  • General knowledge of industry standards and best practices (e.g., NIST SP 800-82, ISA/IEC 62443, ISO/IEC 27001, IEC 61508, IEC 61511, NERC CIP, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and encryption.
  • Thorough knowledge of instrumentation (e.g., flow meters, transducers, densimeters, controllers, etc.)
  • General knowledge of electrical schematics/drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team..
  • Strong verbal and written skills to communicate effectively both with customers and internal project teams.
  • General knowledge of operational technology environments (e.g., Power & Energy, Manufacturing, Oil and Gas, etc.)
  • General knowledge of containerization and virtualization technologies.
  • General knowledge of programming languages, such as Python and C++.
  • Passion for learning (technical and professional skills); implementing practices from others; trying, failing, and learning from both successes and failures; sharing practices and knowledge for others’ benefit.

Salary Range: $165,000.00 - $247,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
