ACCOUNTING & FINANCE

What We Do

Our Finance and Accounting teams build the financial infrastructure to scale our growing company. We combine analytical and strategic thinking to develop a sound financial future for our global brand. We work closely with teams across the company, international subsidiaries, as well as with external partners to ensure a world-class finance organization. Our team contains experts from fields like tax, treasury, purchasing, FP&A, and more.

STRATEGIC FINANCE INTERN

What You'll Do

The Strategic Finance team is responsible for working closely with Epic’s business units to create and maintain short- and long-term financial forecasts as well as provide continuous reporting on performance. These financial forecasts will be underpinned by KPIs and reflect the highly iterative and evolving strategies of the business. Together with business leaders, you will determine business targets to meet our objectives and put in place systems to measure and report on performance. You will align the financial and business goals across the organization and provide visibility as well as transparency to executives on financial performance, KPIs, and operating metrics.

In this role, you will

  • The candidate will have the opportunity to work on 2-3 projects during the 10-12 week internship, which may include but are not limited to product ROI assessment, sensitivity analyses, market and/or product deep dives, etc.
  • Conduct market research and analysis into the PC gaming industry and ecosystem, including but not limited to market sizing, competitive landscape, and identifying white space opportunities
  • Partner with various stakeholders within the company and identify product features and scope to model revenue growth and cost forecasts to make recommendations
  • Build short and long-term financial models underpinned by KPIs to support business unit and company strategy
  • Identify, model, and present user engagement, adoption, and financial implications of business strategy
  • Present analyses to the Finance team and BU stakeholders communicating strategic goals and initiatives 
  • Develop a network of industry contacts, and a collection of research resources to bring knowledge of market trends, benchmarks, and opportunities to bear on strategic decisions 

What we're looking for

  • Currently pursuing an MBA/ Masters degree with coursework in data analytics, statistics, finance, accounting, economics, or relevant quantitative background
  • 2+ years of strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, corporate development, private equity, and/or MBB management consulting experience preferred
  • Experience collaborating with business unit leaders and driving forecasting, initiative planning, and execution
  • Experience in the technology industry; prior understanding of gaming, entertainment, and/or software highly desired with specific interest and understanding of the gaming industry
  • Strong analytical skills with extensive financial modeling experience and working with large data sets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence across the organization; ability to effectively build relationships with internal and external partners
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to summarize key financial and operational issues to leadership
  • Ability to effectively build relationships with internal and external partners
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and apply feedback received to their work output
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
