About the Role

As a Data Advisory Consultant with Purview experience, you will play a crucial role in helping our clients establish and maintain effective data governance practices. You will leverage your expertise in data governance strategies and approaches and your hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview to design, implement, and optimise data governance and management solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess clients' current data governance maturity and develop roadmaps for improvement
  • Design and implement data governance frameworks and processes using Microsoft Purview
  • Configure and customise Purview to meet specific client needs, including data discovery, classification, and lineage tracking
  • Develop data catalogues and metadata management strategies
  • Implement data quality rules and monitoring processes within Purview
  • Create and maintain data governance policies, standards and procedures
  • Conduct training sessions for clients on data governance best practices and Purview usage
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of data governance initiatives with business objectives
  • Provide expert guidance on regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) as it relates to data governance
  • Stay updated on the latest features and capabilities of Microsoft Purview and other relevant technologies

About You

This is a senior role within our Data Advisory team and would suit data professionals with wide and varied background. We think experience in the following areas will help you to be successful in this role:

  • Extensive experience in data governance, data management or related roles
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, methodologies and best practices
  • Proven experience implementing and managing Microsoft Purview in enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with other data governance and metadata management tools
  • Experience with data privacy regulations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Project management experience, preferably with Agile methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or CGEIT (Certified in Governance of Enterprise IT)
  • Experience with Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics)
  • Knowledge of data modelling and database design principles
  • Familiarity with data integration and ETL processes
