What You Will Do:

Development leader who has strong tech leadership and hands-on development skills in converting business and functional requirements into enterprise applications. While this role is deeply involved in the technical aspects, he or she also has a hand in managerial and coordination tasks ensuring that the technical vision aligns with the project's goals and that the development team operates at peak efficiency across the entire software development life cycle. This individual needs to provide planning, estimation, scheduling, prioritization, and coordination of technical activities related to development with multiple stakeholders. Accountable to business and technology management for end-to-end application scoping, planning, development, and delivery that meets and exceeds various standards of the US federal government.

Detailed duties may include:

  • Leads cross-functional development to bring prototypes to life, providing constructive feedback to optimize implementation and usability.
  • Sets an example for team members of how to reliably deliver on commitments.
  • Embraces emerging standards while promoting best practices and communicating trade-offs.
  • Implements, maintains, and supports software integrations.
  • Provides solutions to technical problems of varying scope and complexity.
  • Collaborates with the Account team to determine priorities and risks associated with projects.
  • Works with product stakeholders to understand business requirements and refine actionable technical tasks with the support of the team.
  • Ensures all relevant processes, procedures and product documentation is up to date.
  • Follows continuous integration/continuous development processes, peer review, coding style, and development conventions.
  • Actively participates in daily team standups, the Agile process, peer code reviews, and occasional pair programming.
  • Collaborates with other developers on planning and working use cases, features, and tasks.
  • Mentors team members to help them grow in their careers while reinforcing our core values


What You Will Need:

  • Minimum FIVE (5) years experience in software development languages and frameworks (such as, but not limited to, MuleSoft, Java, Angular, microservices).
  • Experience with portable environment creation or containerization technologies, such as Docker, Apache Mesos, or Vagrant
  • Experience designing and developing soluons with Java Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE) in an Agile Software Development environment.
  • Experience designing and developing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) with Representation State Transfer (REST), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON).
  • Extensive experience with JBoss Developer (RHCJD) or Oracle Certified Professional, Java Enterprise Edition (EE).
  • Extensive experience with Oracle Database 12c (or greater).
  • Experience implementing the MVC Development Methodology (Model/View/Controller).
  • Proven success as a technical team leader.
  • Experience working closely with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and help translate these into technical requirements for the development team.
  • Experience planning and documenting technical specifications for features or system design.
  • Experience designing, building, and configuring applications to meet business process and application requirements.
  • Experience directing the development team in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications.
  • Experience writing testable, scalable, and efficient code and leading code reviews.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members and ensuring they adhere to determining software quality standards.
