Our Sales team support our customers by providing clinical information about products, educational information, clinical training programs and resources. We support healthcare providers and healthcare systems meet the goals of the patients in their communities.

Our passionate Vaccines team in Switzerland is dedicated to protecting the population of Switzerland against a broad range of infectious diseases and their health consequences, including cancers, by partnering with our customers and all relevant healthcare stakeholders.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Sales Manager (m/f/d) responsible for our Vaccines sales force across Switzerland.

An established leader in vaccines with a robust pipeline and strong growth momentum, we are looking to further accelerate its development across priority brands and franchises. The Sales Manager Vaccines will lead the sales force and report to the Business Unit Director, Vaccines, while working closely with colleagues from a range of functions including Marketing, Medical, Compliance, and Access.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sales Manager Vaccines (m/f/d) is responsible for end-to-end leadership and performance of the sales force. They are the key link between the head office teams and field-based colleagues, ensuring consistently strong execution of commercial activities and serving as the voice of customers. The role combines frequent field days across all of Switzerland with head office days in Lucerne.

  • High-Performing Team Leadership – Reinforce and sustain a team culture of high performance, accountability, psychological safety and fun through inspirational leadership and strong emotional intelligence.

  • Sales Force Coaching & Development – Provide regular and meaningful coaching on core business competencies including selling skills, digital channels, data analysis, and patient journey, and organize relevant sales trainings as necessary.

  • Commercial Execution & Sales Force Excellence – Maximize commercial impact across customer groups by setting appropriate performance goals and KPIs, optimizing segmentation and targeting, implementing customer-relevant channel mix, organizing regular territory reviews, driving excellence in congress planning and execution, and overall ensuring strong implementation of marketing strategies and tactics with customers.

  • Customer & Sales Force Interface – Drive impactful customer-focused collaboration between field force and other functions, serve as the “Voice of Sales” and “Voice of Customer” to the head office, organize Sales Meetings and product trainings, and ensure sales force feedback and insights are regularly shared to maximize the effectiveness of marketing strategy, messages and materials.

  • Direct Customer Engagement – Visit customers and attend medical education and congresses on a regular basis, and role model excellence in customer engagements to the team.

  • Team Operations – Own team performance management, ensure high level of compliance and best-practice adherence, and manage sales team budget.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have many or all of the following:

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, emotional intelligence and interpersonal communication skills that motivate and energize others

  • Strategic thinking and communication, with ability to implement with executional excellence hands-on, and through others

  • Growth mindset with strong competitive drive and resilience

  • Empowering style and leading by example, advocating for the team

  • Proven Sales Management experience is a significant advantage

  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in pharmaceutical industry, across sales, marketing, and people leadership, with a track record of impact

  • Spoken and written business proficiency in English and German (mandatory), with French and Italian proficiency an advantage

  • University degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Economics, Healthcare, Natural Sciences or similar
