About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Broadcast Operations, the Central Services Lead will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of our Central Services function, as well as working in conjunction with the broader Broadcast Operations team in ensuring the smooth delivery of our day-to-day workflows across our studio and technical facilities.  This role is based on-site at our Ballymount Studios.

Specific Duties & Tasks:

  • Management of the Central Services function

  • Coordinate the day-to-day Central Services Supervisors to manage key areas such as production resourcing, ENG cameras and Motion Design

  • Work in collaboration with the Broadcast Operations Leads to ensure that the diverse skillsets within the department are adequately resourced

  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to ensure that schedule changes and additional productions are communicated effectively across the team to ensure smooth delivery

  • Manage the Central Services Cost Centre including budget tracking and compliance, PO generation and receipting 

  • Ensure an adequate pool of contractors is maintained to cover absence backfill as well as in-house studio productions and third-party hire

  • Provide a leadership support function to teams and motivate staff to achieve goals by holding regularly 121’s and team meetings

  • Regularly review workflows and resources and make recommendations in line with new ways of working and business needs

  • Support internal team with the daily logistics of the Broadcast Operations division

  • Present regular updates and briefings to VMTV leadership team

  • Provide input and recommendations for annual capex planning

  • Manage Broadcast Operations cost centres and be fully adept at contracting, invoicing and staff overtime processes

  • The above list is not exhaustive. You will be expected to perform duties as necessitated by your changing role and the overall business objectives of the Company, as directed

Skills & Expertise:

  • 5 years + broadcasting experience in a live broadcast environment, Studio or OB

  • Proven track record of success in leadership positions.

  • Understanding of budgets and business-planning 

  • Consistent record of delivering projects on time 

  • Knowledge of content delivery platforms, programmatic practises, the linear and digital media market

  • Ability to develop and document Central Services requirements and action / delivery plans 

  • Comfortable building and developing relationships with various stakeholders
