Overview:
Works within the Logistics & Trade Compliance Team mainly focusing on vendors and logistics support for TJX division within the Hong Kong Buying Office. The role includes communication with vendors to ensure accurate understanding of TJX best practices related to the direct importation of merchandise into U.S., Canadian and U.K./EU markets. Creates reports to analyze and identify problematic vendors. Supports correction actions on problematic vendors. Establishes strong working relationships with corporate divisions' logistics groups to ensure mutual understanding and efficient management of vendor community.
Job Responsibilities:
Work with existing vendors on TJX policies and procedures and government agency requirements of all TJX divisions importing countries, as it relates to international buys
Proper understanding of purchase order, pre-ticketing standards, packing requirements, carton labelling, freight and shipping processes, and all required imports documentation and regulatory product requirements
Ensure completeness and accuracy of all TJX required logistics data and information
Maintain and update contact information for all vendors services
Communicate of company logistics guides and import processes to various vendors
Support training on programmes and answers questions
Communicate instruction to vendors on new government regulations that may impede the importing process
Travel to vendor communities, training as the business deems necessary
Develop individual action plans, implement and monitor progress with vendor to promote improvement in non-compliant areas. Provide feedback on non-compliant merchant instruction
Form working relationships with all TJX corporate logistics divisions, be familiar with TJX standards and initiatives as well as industry practices
Manage 3PL partnerships with a focus on performance monitoring including but not limited to remediation process coordination with 3PL for agreed Service Level fulfilment and performance evaluation (KPI) through data analysis for management review
Act as a key contact for new vendors, and provide support on TJX logistics procedures and service providers
Responsible for ad-hoc projects as required by the business
Job Impact:
Collaborate and support to a designated vendor base and ensure timely and accurate execution of all related PO’s
Decision Making:
Able to communicate vendor noncompliance activities and make appropriate recommendations for change and improvement
Ability to execute beneficial changes to TJX logistics policies and procedures and make best practice recommendations to improve supply chain flow
Ability to understand and communicate government agency requirements as directed by business
Partner with Manager and Senior Specialists to provide solutions to current pending on-orders to enable goods to ship timely and accurately, to not impede supply chain flow
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
3-5 Years of Experience working with vendor community and retail logistics
Experience in Freight forwarding, Supply Chain or Buying Office Logistics Operation is an advantage
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, great organisation, initiative, and analytical skills, Self-starter, able to work independently
Ability to communicate across organisational groups and levels internally and externally
High level of understanding of Excel and PowerPoint
Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
Good follow through skills and ability to prioritise tasks to meet corporate goals
