Who you are:

As a Senior Associate Corporate Counsel, you are our legal support, utilizing your expertise to provide legal advice and guidance to specific departments on how to manage risk in a manner that keeps the organization competitive in the market. You’ll play an important role and will provide time-sensitive counsel to all stakeholders in the life cycle of the relevant business processes. Most importantly, this role is about building trust through every interaction and doing it with integrity, caring and excellence in mind. 

What you’ll do:

  • Provide legal support for litigation, fraud, and banking regulation matters
  • Maintain a current knowledge base of laws and regulations related to and impacting the banking industry
  • Monitor any changes to laws and regulations that may impact assigned areas of the bank
  • Develop relationships across the bank to enhance the scope and quality of services that the legal department provides across the organization
  • Address and respond to legal requests from clients and outside entities as appropriate
  • Work with internal team, many lines of business, and outside counsel on disputes and litigation matters
  • Always take action using Integrity, Caring and Excellence to achieve all-win outcome

What you’ll need:

  • License to practice law in Texas and good standing with the State Bar of Texas
  • Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • 3+ years of experience in law, preferably in litigation, fraud, or banking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft computer applications

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in court
  • Experience with negotiations, mediations, arbitrations
  • Experience with garnishments, subpoenas, and summons
  • Experience with petitions, answers, motions, and discovery responses
  • Understanding of Texas and federal court rules, procedures, and practices
