Amplify is seeking a thoughtful, innovative, and strategic Associate Director of Product to join our science team. In this role, you will drive product development and strategy for initiatives across the science program, ensuring we deliver exceptional experiences that empower teachers and engage students.
You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including curriculum developers, designers, engineers, and sales and marketing professionals, to bring innovative science education to market.
This role will report to the Executive Director of Product, Science. It is initially designed as an Individual Contributor position, with potential to transition to People Manager.
1. Product Strategy and Vision:
Develop a comprehensive product strategy for foundational initiatives across Amplify's science program aligned to company goals, informed by market shifts, and responsive to user needs.
Communicate and evangelize a vision to drive awareness of and excitement for new initiatives.
2. Product Development and Management:
Oversee the product lifecycle from concept to launch of print and digital products, including planning, development, testing, and iteration.
Collaborate with curriculum teams to ensure the integration of pedagogically sound and standards-aligned content
Collaborate with technology teams to ensure science product vision is well executed in a cross-subject platform.
3. Cross-Functional Partnership:
Give and receive advice and guidance from cross-product counterparts.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, providing regular status updates and synthesized recommendations.
4. Evidence-Backed Decision-Making:
Drive market research, competitive analysis, and stakeholder interviews to identify trends and opportunities in the science education sector.
Gather and analyze evidence from a variety of sources (user feedback, usage data, competitive research, etc) to build product strategy.
Employ usage data and key performance indicators to evaluate the success of product initiatives and recommend areas for iteration.
5. Go-To-Market Support:
Collaborate with customer-facing teams to develop resources, training, and communications that support successful product implementation and adoption.
Partner with market-facing teams during product development to seed timely and effective communications.
Bachelor's degree
A minimum of 6 years of experience in product management, with a focus on educational technology or curriculum development
Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Teaching experience in traditional classroom environments and/or experience with science educational content
Experience building print and digital products in relationship with each other
Familiar with best practices in accessibility
What we offer:
Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a 401(k) plan, stock options, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross salary range for this role is $120,000 - $135,000. This role is eligible to earn an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
