What’s involved in this role:

The Milk Intake Operator position is responsible for receiving milk from milk haulers and truckers, ensuring quality of milk through samples, testing and proper sanitation, handling and storage.

  • Rate of Starting Pay: $23.16 Hourly
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7am-3pm (must be flexible to work nights/weekends as needed)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Run antibiotic tests.
  • Wash tanks and silos.
  • Wash and unload milk trucks.
  • Wash product lines.
  • Process milk slips.
  • Perform RO readings.
  • Sample CSM and UF loads.
  • Unload CSM and UF loads.
  • Complete tasks on Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Handle Silo Rotation sheets.
  • Handle Milk Inventory sheets.
  • Perform NFDM/CSM Calculations.
  • Effectively communicate with haulers, customers, etc.
  • Monitor silo rotations.
  • Handle Patron samples.
  • Load whey/cream trucks
  • Mix powder for production.
  • Wash RO/POL.
  • Wash Whey Separator.
  • Mix NFDM.
  • Mix WPC.
  • Assist in training new employees as directed by Supervisor.
  • Run HTST's and Milk UF
  • Obtain HTST Certification
  • Obtain Bulk Milk Sampler License

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend meetings as directed.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Safety Protocol
    • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
    • Support safety policies and programs.

Qualifications:

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in a manufacturing/intake area required.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Charm Reader Certification preferred.
  • Sampler License preferred.

Skills Required:

  • Able to exchange basic informational data (fill out forms/checklists, copy data from one record to another, etc.); interview to gather information; advise others on alternatives/options; coach and counsel others; read, understand and explain technical data.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, adapt to a changing environment quickly, and think independently.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, quality and cleanliness in work.
  • Follow one- or two-step verbal instructions; read and follow written instructions; perform routine and repetitive tasks and carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrate functional and technical knowledge, ability to learn new skills quickly, and achieve a high level of accomplishment.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow documents and procedures (GLP, SOP, MSDS, GMP, test procedures, and HACCP).
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.
