Salary Range: SP2, Level 4, $74,242.00 - $92,803.00 per year. The final compensation for this position will be determined based on individual factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

Health & Safety Coordinator - Hybrid

The Opportunity­­

Are you highly organized with exceptional coordination skills? We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our internal Health & Safety (H&S) team as a Health & Safety Coordinator in the Regulatory Compliance branch at the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER). In this role, you will leverage your coordination skills to work with our health and safety advisors and more broadly across the AER to ensure the seamless implementation and sustainability of our Health & Safety Management System.  

You will support, coordinate, and promote various health and safety policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance and sustainability of the Health & Safety Management System. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Coordinate various Health & Safety based programs, examples include audits and evaluations; audiometric testing, Fire Warden program; and other processes that make up the health and safety management system.

  • Oversee the administration and quality control of our H&S software platform, ensuring content accuracy and providing user support.

  • Manage the operation of the H&S inbox, working with H&S advisors to provide timely advice and strong customer service.

  • Collaborate with team members to develop H&S training, awareness campaigns, and internal communication strategies.

  • Assist in building and completing health and safety reports, compiling data and statistics for leadership on a regular basis, and the development of presentations.

What we’re looking for in you:

  • Post secondary education or courses in health and safety or other related education are preferred.

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in administering health and safety and/or previous experience as a working in a coordinator role.

  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) legislation.

  • Strong coordination skills with the ability to apply change management and project management methodologies.

  • Ability to quickly learn our H&S software platform and provide coordination and customer service support.

Additional Information:

  • All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada at the time of application.

  • This role has a business requirement to work from our Calgary Head Office.  Travel is ad-hoc and is limited to the occasional visit to regional field centres.
