Job Title: Senior Network Lead
Role Purpose
The Senior Network Lead is responsible for leading the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of the company’s network infrastructure. This role ensures network services are highly available, scalable, secure, and aligned with business and ICT standards. The position also provides technical leadership, operational guidance, and escalation support for network-related matters across the organisation.
Functional Duties
- Lead the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of the company’s network infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, performance, and security.
- Manage and oversee network security controls, including firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection systems, VPNs, network access controls, and related security technologies to protect the organisation from unauthorised access and potential threats.
- Provide advanced 2nd and 3rd-level technical support for network infrastructure-related issues, ensuring timely troubleshooting, root cause analysis, resolution, and service restoration.
- Act as the technical lead for network-related incidents, problems, changes, and service requests, ensuring proper coordination, escalation, documentation, and closure.
- Collaborate with server, cloud, desktop, cybersecurity, application, and other ICT teams, as well as external vendors and service providers, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of network infrastructure services.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of network equipment and connectivity issues involving routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, WAN links, VPNs, and other network components to minimise business impact and downtime.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security using diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools to proactively identify issues, optimise performance, and recommend improvements.
- Conduct proof-of-concept evaluations for new network solutions, tools, and technologies to improve network reliability, security, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Review and maintain network configurations, diagrams, standards, procedures, change records, and operational documentation to ensure accuracy and audit readiness.
- Lead or support network infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, new site deployments, security enhancements, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to junior network engineers and support teams to strengthen team capability and operational maturity.
- Ensure network operations comply with internal ICT policies, security standards, audit requirements, and industry best practices.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network administration, architecture, security, automation, and cloud networking to continuously improve the organisation’s network environment.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in ICT Network, Infrastructure Network, Network Operations, or a related technical role.
- Proven experience in managing enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, firewall, routing, switching, and network security technologies.
- Strong understanding of network administration, network architecture, network security, and operational best practices.
- Hands-on experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, logging, and analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of network operating systems, routing protocols, switching technologies, firewall policies, VPN technologies, and wireless networking.
- Experience in troubleshooting complex network incidents and performing root cause analysis.
- Experience in leading network projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and managing vendors or service providers.
- Ability to review, prepare, and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, SOPs, and operational reports.
- Good command of English communication, both written and spoken.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive organisational, departmental, and security-related matters with discretion.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong aptitude for working with network technologies and staying updated with emerging infrastructure, security, and cloud networking trends.
- Good interpersonal skills with a strong team player mindset, service-oriented approach, and ability to guide or mentor junior team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Networking, GCP Networking, or equivalent certifications would be an added advantage.
- Experience with enterprise firewalls, SD-WAN, cloud networking, network access control, network automation, and infrastructure monitoring tools would be beneficial.
- Experience working in a regional or multi-site enterprise environment would be an advantage.
