This specific role sits within our EMEA Platform and Data Services (PDS) team which is part of our Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) function within our Institutional Client Group (ICG).

The EMEA Onboarding Product team is responsible for implementing our global digital strategy across the 50 markets in region, supporting client onboarding across TTS business lines. The strategy includes the transformation of the operating and engagement model through delivery of self-service and digitized capabilities. We work in a cross functional model to facilitate a consistent experience across all markets, both in-region and globally.

The digitization efforts currently underway aim to provide a simplified and digitized onboarding and bank account management experience to drive increased client satisfaction and reduce cycle times for client requests.

This role will be focused on account opening onboarding experience in TTS, specifically simplifying our documentation, digitizing execution and right-placing requirements.

What Will You Do?

You will sit within the EMEA Onboarding product team, primarily focusing on enhancing the end-to-end Account Opening & Account Maintenance experience on behalf of Citi’s Institutional clients. You will be responsible for leading the team’s partnership across the region across a range of documentation programs perspective, managing outputs and the changes that result. In addition, this specialist role will combine a functional and legal scope, requiring a person with sound process and business knowledge, with some legal expertise. The role will also manage and chair EMEA Documentation Governance Committee and maintain record of all changes

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the partnership across Banking, KYC teams and Onboarding teams in EMEA, to define and execute the right placement of documentation between Account Opening and KYC requirements list, ensuring that the correct documentation is requested at the correct step for all clients.
  • Driving discussions with in-country Legal, Risk and AML teams across the region to challenge any and all non-standard documentation requirements for Account Opening or Maintenance
  • Alongside the Product, Sales and Account Management teams, manage a portfolio of Platinum clients, negotiating, executing and maintaining Contractual Agreements, which support the operations of Cash Management for the clients
  • To be the subject matter expert on the client's documentation requirements and single point of contact for Implementation, Account Services, Legal and Product Sales globally, as it relates to Master Agreements for named clients
  • Ownership of change for programs under your control: creation of agile epics & journeys to document required changes; ownership of these change requests through presentation and advocacy through our annual budget process
  • Note: this role will be supporting multiple time zones and will need to be flexible as such
  • Additional flexibility will be needed to handle programmatic deliverables that arise in this space and ensure successful completion of same.

Here are a few of the key attributes we will be looking for as part of the recruitment process:

  • Strong Product Management/Documentation/Client Onboarding experience preferably in a bank environment
  • Solid project/program management experience preferably in a bank.
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to alter communications approach depending on your audience - level of seniority, technical acumen, internal vs. external, etc.
  • Comfortable to chair senior dialogue in high-pressured environment and manage risk escalation appropriately within the organisation
  • Ability to work and drive cross functional groups of stakeholders, countries, global and regional teams
  • Design thinking- Successfully translate client journeys into business requirements and technical discussions
  • Ability to think through user problems, find solutions that eliminates manual touch points for our clients
  • Evidence-based decision making – ensuring that there is always logic to the decisions you make
  • (Highly Preferable) Legal/Paralegal experience
  • (Highly Preferable) – experience in Design Thinking and/or AGILE techniques to define Epics/Features and User Stories
