This role is based in Hamilton, Bermuda.
Pramerica Services Company of Bermuda is looking to fill a newly created Business Analyst role.
The Business Analyst will be responsible for reviewing business operations, assessing evolving business ideas, liaising between captive and affiliated reinsurance entities and key stakeholders, and communicating recommendations for improving business operations to senior leadership . The Business Analyst will ensure, together with IT partners and key stakeholders, that technical requirements are accurately translated into process and system outcomes.
The Business Analyst will work across a range of projects, complex and simple,
and with a range of internal and external partners.
Responsibilities:
• Understand and map processes entity-wide for Lotus Re, Gibraltar Re, and Prismic using interviews, document analysis, requirements working sessions, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis.
• Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from underlying true needs.
• Gather, review, and analyze business and industry data, including KPIs, financial reports, and other key metrics using data analytics tools.
• Understand current internal and external vendor utilization and handoffs. Research and make recommendations to optimize current strategy and additional opportunities for outsourcing non-core revenue generating activities.
• Assess options for process improvements including business process modeling to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Drive and challenge stakeholders on their assumptions of how they would successfully execute their plans while maintaining effective working relationships.
• Support the design, implementation, and evolution of the services company target operating model.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to move initiatives effectively and expeditiously to positive implementation.
• Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Qualifications:
• 5-7 years of experience in technology, specifically in process mapping, discovery, and knowledge of tools, experience working in startups advantageous.
• Bachelor ’ s degree in business administration, business analytics, management information systems, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.
• Strong analytical and project management skills required including how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
• Demonstrated experience with business process mapping applying SIPOCs method.
• Lean / six sigma methodology. Greenbelt certification preferred.
• Knowledge of financial terms and principles within Insurance context preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to support proposed
strategies, process improvements, and operational decisions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, such as executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
