Job Description

Position Summary:  

As a Research Scientist Intern at Tokyo Electron, you will have the unique opportunity to join a dynamic and diverse team of engineers dedicated to the development, enhancement, and customization of our products to meet the specific demands of our customers. Whether you thrive in simulation or experimental research, this internship will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the research scientist field. 

 

This internship is payrolled via payroll process provider. 

 

Responsibilities:  

The specific responsibilities for this position may vary depending on the role and business unit; however, they could include:  

  • Collaborating with the team to conduct research simulations using state-of-the-art techniques such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) or Atomistic modeling, among others, based on the requirements of the assigned project 

  • Implementing experimental methods, including but not limited to controlled flame luminosity (CFL) or turbulent pressure-sensitive paint (TPS), to collect essential data and perform thorough analysis 

  • Documenting and analyzing simulation or experimental results to draw insightful conclusions and providing valuable recommendations for product enhancements and advancements 

  • Collaborating with other team members to optimize simulation models or experimental setups, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of the research process 

  • Actively participating in team meetings, sharing progress updates, insights, and contributing to the overall research strategy 

  • Staying updated on the latest industry trends, emerging research techniques, and cutting-edge technologies to continuously expand your knowledge and contribute to the team's innovation efforts 
     

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Pursuing advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Computational Chemistry or Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Fluid and Thermal Sciences, Physics, or related fields 

  • Experience with Statistical Design and Analysis of Experiment methods 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Must be fluent in English 

  • Must be able to work in teams as well as individually 

  • Experience working safely in a laboratory environment with hazardous chemicals 

  • Ability and desire to work as a part of a multi-disciplinary and diverse team 

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S without sponsorship
