What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining client relationships for the WISE Unit, providing consistent service within established guidelines and developing needs-based sales strategies.  You will also pursue opportunities for security trading and provide proactive sales and service solutions to clients. You contribute to client loyalty improvement by taking ownership of resolving client issues at the first point of contact.  This is your opportunity to become a key member of a results-oriented team, and a key partner as a sales professional to help clients reach their goals.

What will you do?

  • Develop and maintain close relationships through effective relationship management with client base to improve the client experience and ensure value-add in the client relationship
  • Responsible for the management of clients via consistent practice management routines, delivering sound sales & service product solution offerings of WISE i.e. fixed income securities and equities for institutional investors. You focus on the right products for the client based on suitability risk assessment. 
  • Follow up on referrals, conduct exploratory meetings with clients as well as presentations of WISE product offerings to potential clients
  • Develop internal relationships across the RBC group to make readily available WISE products for their clients
  • Identify new opportunities for using of WISE products and implement strategies for the execution of transactions across the region
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures and statutory & regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate an exceptional end-to-end client onboarding experience for new and existing investment clients through strong knowledge of client’s operational needs via meetings with clients in person.
  • Champion digital enablement and be an advocate of RBC’s mobile and online applications, enable our clients to engage with RBC through the channel of choice

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • University Degree in finance/management studies/accounting or a combination of work and experience
  • Must have knowledge of multiple asset classes
  • Demonstrable track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets on a consistent basis
  • Excellent interpersonal and business development skills
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of banking experience
  • Working knowledge of all investments and RBC collective investment scheme product offerings
  • Excellent organization skill and attention to detail
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and willingness to familiarize self with other (sometimes emerging) applications and systems
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage competing priorities, as well as multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
  • A growth mind-set
  • Be a genuine team player

Nice-to-have

  • Licensed Trader with the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange and Trinidad and Tobago Securities Exchange Commission
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a trading/investment environment
