POSITION SUMMARY

The Shipper is responsible for the timely preparation and shipment of orders.

  

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to the Manufacturing Manager.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS

  • Verifies and prepares products for shipment.
  • Matches finished goods with shipping pinks and processing paperwork.
  • Verifies shipping method, schedules pick-ups and freight rates as needed.
  • Pick confirms through JDE or RF-Smart.
  • Enters shipping information through the JDE system.
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons/applies shipping information to all domestic shipments.
  • Ships orders in the proper sequence.
  • Communicates with customer service on shipments containing backorders and other issues.
  • Follows export procedures, including coordination with customer service on providing pink slips, weights and measurements.
  • Posts weights and shipping charges.
  • Wraps and straps shipments as needed.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Monitors stock as is necessary.
  • Operates tier-lift truck, fork truck, or hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments.
  • Responsible for the accurate, complete, and timely paperwork required to properly control, maintain, and ship parts and product in the assigned areas.
  • Communicates with other value stream shipping associates to coordinate shipping of orders with multiple value streams.
  • Loads and unload trucks.
  • Monitors drivers to insure proper pickups.
  • Maintains a safe and orderly work area and practice good housekeeping procedures in the assigned area.
  • Properly protects and stores parts and products in the assigned areas.
  • Other tasks as may be assigned by Supervisor 

ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Adherence to all safety regulations and proper and safe storage of parts.
  • Responsible for verifying shipment for correctness against customer order.
  • Responsible for upholding the highest ethical standards in the conduct of my employment with the Company and to personally abide by the IDEX Standards of Conduct and Business Ethics Policy.
  • KPI - On-time delivery targets.

EDUCATION LEVEL, SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION

  • 1-2 years shipping experience
  • Must be able to drive a forklift and become certified
  • Computer knowledge
  • Must be detail oriented

SKILLS AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION

  • Requires lifting boxes weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Requires standing for 8 hours per day
  • May be located in a non-air conditioned plant with cement floors
  • Additional lifting of up to 150 pounds with assistance.
  • Exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Hourly Pay Range: $17.00 per hour
