We are seeking an experienced Medical Physicist to join the Nuclear Medicine Center of Excellence (NMCOE) for Telix Pharmaceuticals, under the Division of Precision Medicine. This role is responsible for overseeing the nuclear medicine input into our development programs and curating imaging/data archives. This role will be responsible for providing nuclear medicine, dosimetry and imaging expertise to deliver clinical, pre-clinical research and commercial stage projects throughout Telix Pharmaceuticals.
Working with clinical, medical affairs, research and other Telix colleagues in multi-disciplinary teams as well as managing external partners and vendors to ensure nuclear medicine excellence in our programs.
The Medical Physicist at Telix Pharmaceuticals plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of our radiopharmaceutical products. This includes performing dosimetry calculations, conducting radiation risk assessments, and contributing to the clinical development of our products. Core team members of the NMCOE will include the successful candidate, a Nuclear Medicine Physician and Radiation Physicist.
Key Accountabilities:
- Expertise in medical dosimetry including
- Conduct dosimetric calculations for patients receiving radiopharmaceutical treatments.
- Develop and implement protocols for in-vivo and in-vitro dosimetry measurements.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize patient-specific dosimetry protocols.
- Contribute to the dosimetric design of clinical trials.
- Provide Input and Opinion on Radiation Risk Assessment
- Evaluate potential risks associated with the use of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Work with the regulatory team to ensure all radiation safety guidelines are met.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to assess and minimize radiation exposure
- Conduct risk assessments relating to radiation exposure to patients, staff, and the general public.
- Support development of study documentation including, but not limited to, imaging manuals, investigator brochures, IMPDs and CSRs.
- Provide input into pre-clinical proof-of-concept research to support translational studies.
- Support, and lead where appropriate, the development and improvement of nuclear medicine dosimetry methods, image analysis tools and artificial intelligence projects.
- Provide oversight for site initiation and scanner validation per trial specifications. Support medical and commercial teams with optimal imaging excellence and interaction with sites.
- Support, and lead where appropriate, the development and evaluation of SOPs and policies.
- Write and provide input into regulatory submissions.
- Represent Telix medical physics expertise with Key Opinion Leaders, external partners and vendors.
Education and Experience:
- Masters or PhD in Radiation Physics or Imaging Related Physics required
- 10+ years (with Masters) or 8+ years (with PhD) experience in Medical Physics, Radiation Physics and/or Dosimetry required
- Experience in clinical practice an asset
- Track record of working with CROs, multiple image processing platforms and imaging modalities
- Ability to work effectively in the team environment
- Experience in providing internal and external documents for research and regulatory filings
- Prior experience working with pharma or commercial organizations desirable
