ESOL Manager

Nationwide – home working with lots of travel

Up to £48,000 per annum plus company car or £4,500 car allowance

Full time, up to 1-year fixed term contract with likely extension  

About the Role:

As a ESOL Manager you will be working as part of the Afghanistan Resettlement and Assistance Project Transit sites team to support individuals and families who have been displaced and are being accommodated by a specialist central government contract, the postholder will have management responsibility for the coordination of support and standardisation on each Transit site. The main duties is to provide effective leadership, management, guidance and support to the Inclusion Support Manager and Inclusion Support Officers to enable them to guide tutors throughout the contract to ensure all children and adults receive appropriate educational support, assessment and are prepared for their next steps in education and life in the UK.  

To act as Subject Matter Expert in the field of English Language attainment and education readiness, upskilling Inclusion Support Officers and tutors to enable them to deliver the most effective learning interventions  To provide guidance and support to the Inclusion Support Manager and Inclusion Support Officers and deliver regular training to continually improve delivery based on feedback from service users and observations, actively encourage continuous improvement through collaborative working, sharing good practices and contribution to the development of resources To support and train the Inclusion Support Manager and Officers to deliver ongoing audits and observations, and oversee this, working closely with the Quality Team  To identify and maintain appropriate resources to support the provision, whilst attaining a level of consistency across the estate  To lead implementation of appropriate audit and observation measures to ensure quality and continuous improvement of learning interventions, taking appropriate measures to optimise engagement and attainment of our end users  To assist in creating procedures and help streamline the education provision.  To ensure engagement with Local Authorities and devolved governments and ensure teaching meets their requirements for the service as far as possible and in line with contractual restrictions  To demonstrate full commitment to learner and staff wellbeing, working within company Safeguarding and Prevent policies and procedures and promoting a culture of vigilance at all times, complying with all relevant company policies and procedures

Role Criteria:

  • Good standard of general education (or equivalent), including Maths and English
    Educated to degree level or equivalent, in a relevant curriculum specialism
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)  
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering high-quality adult and children’s education
  • Experience of effective personalised teaching and learning for learners experiencing diverse barriers
  • Experience of developing and creating learning materials and resources
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines and managing multiple workstreams effectively    
  • Familiarity with KCSIE guidelines
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of Safeguarding and Prevent
