What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • As an Engineering Leader in the Manufacturing Group, you will manage all engineering activities in the Paintshop
  • Train, develop, and evaluate salaried engineering staff
  • Work closely with product engineering teams to drive DFM solutions and resolution to related issues
  • Produce comprehensive and elaborate spreadsheets, graphs and PowerPoint presentations for meetings and management reports
  • Coordinate resources, provide clear direction and timelines for deliverables and delegate tasks across the engineering team
  • Identify, maintain, and ensure project milestones and related activities are fully met
  • Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
  • Proven ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with the highest level of autonomy and accountability for results.
  • Obtains a deep knowledge and ability to implement Scout principles
  • Create a safety culture and apply workplace policies
  • Implements corporate policies, safety and good housekeeping practices

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s Degree is a plus
  • 10+ years of professional experience in automotive production equipment, with expertise in achieving stable production processes and in-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations
  • 7+ years of progressive experience building and managing Engineering teams in a Paintshop manufacturing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of paint application processes and equipment in the automotive industry
  • In-depth knowledge of paint processes and manufacturing best practices
  • Strong technical skills in networking, hardware, and software systems
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $145,000-$165,000
