The Communications Senior Specialist plays an integral role in shaping RKL’s brand by supporting the Firm’s external thought leadership and internal communications strategies. They are responsible for helping develop and executing content plans, thought leadership, social media content and public relations strategies that engage audiences including clients, prospects, team members and our broader communities. The Communications Senior Specialist will be a skilled writer and editor an and a proactive contributor, bringing new and relevant ideas for engaging our audiences around RKL’s content.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director in developing and executing comprehensive content and thought leadership strategies aligned with the firm’s core industries, entities and services.
  • Produce engaging and high-quality written content for newsletters, blog posts, guest columns, case studies, award applications, videos, social media, white papers and more.
  • Partner with Digital Marketing Specialist to support our SEO goals by producing high-quality, relevant content, balancing user and search engine needs and incorporating thoughtful key strategy.
  • Play an integral role in driving an understanding of and maintaining the consistency of our brand voice across our various channels and deliverables.
  • Consult and partner with internal stakeholders to conceptualize posts, videos, etc. that further education and engagement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal key contacts, stakeholders and/or influencers.
  • Execute on different writing styles according to the audience and intent, ranging from formal, journalistic media releases to social media copywriting.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement based on data-driven analysis
  • Drive processes to implement and execute communication strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of integrated communication plans for campaigns, campaigns, posts and initiatives
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies in communication
  • Partner with Marketing colleagues to produce graphics for more visual explanations of complex business concepts
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Required Skills

  • Strong and versatile writing savvy - from being able to craft concise and on-point social media posts to writing engaging blog posts on complex business topics
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage production schedules and timelines 
  • Working knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Experience with Wordpress, HootSuite, Canva, SEMRush, social media channels and other web-based communications tools
  • Comfortable interviewing and developing collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and valued clients of the firm
  • Ability to self-manage, request feedback, prioritize and manage deadlines independently

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or related major
  • 5+ years of experience with writing, proofing, grammar and media relations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects

Essential Functions

  • Regularly required to perform manual tasks, concentrate, think, learn, communicate, sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, grasp, handle or feel objects, reach with arms, talk and hear
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position as needed
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office and on site at client locations, stoop, kneel, crouch, push and pull
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner and exchange information with internal and external actors as needed
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel to local and non-local clients and events as needed, overnight travel may be required

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $75,000
