Function background / context: 

The Institutional Credit Management (ICM) team is a critical component of Citi’s First Line of Defense for wholesale lending and counterparty credit risk.  It partners with businesses Citi-wide to ensure we have best-in-class risk and control capabilities.  ICM also plays an important role in Citi’s Transformation efforts by helping to drive a Citi-wide focus on wholesale credit risk management. Through ongoing investment in processes, controls, systems, and governance, ICM continues to further embed consistency and best practices across Citi, driving closer alignment between our business and regulatory goals.  The Lending Transformation Program (LTP) is a key initiative within ICM.  The goal is to transform the end-to-end wholesale lending process which will consolidate all remediation efforts for loan product processing and establish a consistent target operating model with a focus on improved processes, controls, and enhanced technology to achieve best-in-class processing capabilities to support our client franchise.  

ICM Lending Transformation is looking for an experienced process improvement & workflow automation lead with knowledge of wholesale lending operations.  This individual should have prior experience with transformation program management, conducting detailed process analysis, and business process automation tools.  They should be ready to join a fast paced, world leader in the financial services industry.   

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work within ICM Lending Transformation to drive the implementation of the strategic target operating model for Global Lending Operations 
  • Provide as-needed support to program delivery partners in Product Management, Lending Operations, Technology, Risk, Finance, and Banking 
  • Own end-to-end execution of global programs from problem identification through requirements definition and solution implementation 
  • Leads the efforts to identify risks, dependencies and issues across global programs and coordinates mitigation actions 
  • Proactive focus on global delivery of global programs with specific focus on items that cross sector and cross region 
  • Deliver specific ad-hoc analysis and tactical support in preparation for business and management meetings 
  • Grasp key priorities and complex issues quickly for the larger organization and create clear written presentations/communications 
  • Interview personnel and conduct on-site observation to ascertain unit functions, work performed, and methods, equipment, and personnel used 
  • Analyze data gathered and develop solutions or alternative methods of proceeding. 
  • Plan response to work problems and procedures, such as organizational change, communications, information flow, integrated production methods, inventory control, or cost analysis 
  • Confer with personnel concerned to ensure successful functioning of newly implemented systems or procedures 
  • Appropriately assess and escalate risk through managing and reporting control issues with transparency 

Qualifications and Competencies: 

  • 10+ years’ experience in Financial Services Program/Project Management
  • Prior experience with workflow automation projects leveraging process automation tools such as Appian or Pega 
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology processes & controls, SDLC methodologies, and organizational IT strategy 
  • Demonstrated prior experience leading process improvement initiatives across a global operations team 
  • Understands wholesale lending, financial services businesses, and operating model 
  • Proven strategic thinking and analytic skills coupled with financial acumen 
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information, prioritize business goals and drive results with a high sense of urgency 
  • Able to translate data and metrics from across different constituencies to create clear and concise executive presentation materials. 
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented 
  • Able to create support across a wide range of stakeholders through well-developed interpersonal and influencing capabilities 
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communications skills. Able to work through a large, complex matrix organization; demonstrates a flexible approach and resilience to setbacks. 
  • Promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries; willing to break down business and/or functional silos to optimize results. 
  • Franchise player; broad, critical thinker, self-motivated; comfortable working with ambiguity

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$163,600.00 - $245,400.00
