Job Summary
Synechron is looking for a skilled Cloud DevOps Engineer with expertise in modern cloud technologies and infrastructure automation. This role is pivotal in designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available cloud systems that drive digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will mentor technical teams, explore and implement innovative solutions, and work collaboratively across departments to improve processes, strengthen system resilience, and achieve operational excellence aligned with business goals.

Software Requirements
Required:

  • Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Infrastructure as Code tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible
  • Scripting languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell
  • CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps
  • Containerization: Docker
  • Orchestration: Kubernetes
  • Monitoring tools: Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana
  • Version control: Git

Preferred:

  • DevSecOps tools and security compliance solutions
  • Automation frameworks and multi-cloud support
  • Advanced logging and observability platforms

Experience Level: 7+ years in supporting cloud-native deployments, automation, and infrastructure management

Overall Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, and oversee scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications
  • Guide and mentor teams in implementing CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC) best practices
  • Assess emerging technologies like blockchain, IoT, and AI, integrating relevant solutions into cloud environments
  • Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to optimize system performance, security, and availability
  • Support incident management, capacity planning, and system tuning to ensure high uptime
  • Create and update documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures for automation and deployment workflows
  • Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and speed up release cycles

Technical Skills (By Category)

  • Programming & Automation: Essential: Python, Bash, PowerShell; Preferred: Ansible, Terraform scripting for cloud resources
  • Cloud Technologies: AWS, Azure, GCP fundamentals; experience with security, scaling, and multi-cloud architecture (preferred)
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, service meshes like Istio
  • Monitoring & Logging: Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK Stack, New Relic
  • Development Tools & Methodologies: Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum, Infrastructure as Code, vulnerability management tools
  • Security & Compliance: Data encryption, IAM roles, security policies, vulnerability scanning, compliance standards such as GDPR, SOC, HIPAA

Experience Requirements

  • Over 7 years supporting cloud infrastructure, automation, and DevOps in large-scale or enterprise environments
  • Proven success deploying scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native systems
  • Extensive experience with multi-cloud platforms and container orchestration
  • Strong knowledge of IaC tools, automated deployment pipelines, and monitoring platforms
  • Experience with emerging technologies such as blockchain, IoT, or AI infrastructure (preferred)
  • Industry experience in finance, healthcare, or enterprise technology sectors is advantageous but not mandatory

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Manage and automate cloud deployment, tuning, and scaling activities
  • Lead automation efforts for build, test, and deployment processes supporting enterprise applications
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot outages, and address security vulnerabilities
  • Collaborate with teams across development, security, and operations to implement best practices
  • Support system migration, upgrades, and disaster recovery planning
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of architecture, scripts, and procedures
  • Conduct incident reviews, capacity planning, and performance assessments
  • Drive continuous improvements through adopting new tools, automation, and process enhancements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cloud Computing, or related fields
  • Minimum 7 years supporting cloud infrastructure, automation, and microservices deployment
  • Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer (highly desirable)
  • Proven expertise in infrastructure automation, container orchestration, and cloud deployment strategies
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead interdisciplinary teams
