The Contract Manager is responsible for managing the contracting process from beginning to end, including RFP review, proposal drafting, and drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing contracts that support business objectives. The Contract Manager works with internal organizations to limit commercial risk, margin erosion and ensure compliance with internal policies such as order and revenue recognition. These roles also work to secure procurement agreements on terms that limit MSI’s risk.
Contract Administration
Maintain accurate and organised records including amendments and correspondence.
Monitor contract performance and compliance with established terms and conditions, including those pertaining to sub-contractors.
Preparation of Variations
Assist in the accurate preparation and thorough documentation of contract variations, ensuring all changes are accurately reflected and justified.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to gather required information for variation requests and maintain a clear record of all variations.
Financial Analysis and Management
Support the Commercial Manager in the financial oversight of contracts, including budget monitoring and forecasting activities.
Perform financial analysis related to contract performance, identifying trends, variances, and potential financial risks.
Prepare financial reports and summaries to provide insights into contract profitability and overall performance.
Communication and Coordination
Serve as a key point of contact for internal teams, addressing inquiries related to contract specifics, documentation, and ongoing performance data for MMR contracts, escalating complex or strategic matters to the Commercial Manager.
Support the Commercial Manager in coordinating meetings, facilitating negotiations, and managing discussions with both internal and external stakeholders.
Research and Analysis
Analyse contract terms and conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
Assist in identifying and assessing commercial risks, contributing to the development of mitigation strategies.
Assist in preparing comprehensive reports and summaries related to contract performance and compliance.
Conduct market research to inform benchmarking and commercial strategies.
Support in Negotiations
Participate in contract negotiations by providing relevant information and essential supporting documentation.
Assist in identifying areas of concern and proposing effective solutions during negotiation processes.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvements within contract administration and commercial operations to enhance efficiency.
We are seeking candidates with 2-5 years of professional experience gained in a dynamic work environment. While prior direct contract management experience is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite. We value diverse professional backgrounds, including:
Professional Services: Such as accounting, finance, or consulting, where you have developed strong analytical, problem-solving, and client engagement skills.
Industry Roles: Where you have demonstrated a clear track record of contributing to significant business initiatives, projects, or operational improvements, particularly those with a commercial, financial, or strategic impact.
Ideal candidates will possess a proven ability to apply analytical thinking, support key business functions, and manage stakeholder relationships within a professional context, demonstrating readiness to transition into a commercial management role.
