Assists in insurance verification, collection of copays, posts payments, manages medical record files and obtains prior authorizations for medications and procedures ordered by the physician. Additionally, the Clinical Specialist will assist with obtaining X-rays ordered by the physician as well as obtaining images using other approved electronic equipment (i.e. IPad).

Pay Range: $14.75 - $19.62/hour

Employment Type: Full Time, 80 hours every 2 weeks

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm

Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required,

Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider by 60 days after hire required

ASSESSMENT AND REFERRAL

  • Applies patient screening practices.
  • Recognizes and responds to patient emergencies.
  • Answers the phone promptly and courteously, accurately taking and prioritizing messages and assisting callers to obtain satisfactory responses to their requests.
  • Schedules appointments for clients assessed as needing an appointment for medication management or symptom management.

COMMUNICATION AND CONFIDENTIALITY

  • Participates in maintaining a confidential, safe, client focused office.
  • Communicates well with clients, referral sources, families and external customers as well as with the multi-disciplinary team of providers.
  • Anticipates and provides support to the providers so that providers can focus on clinical productivity.
  • Assures that messages are prioritized and distributed to the physicians in a timely/accurate manner.
  • Screens calls appropriately and communicates with clients in a professional manner.

DOCUMENTATION

  • Documents client information in the medical record.
  • Assists with maintaining patient medication logs as well as completing prescription files and communication logs.
  • Monitors the orderliness and process related to the sample medication supply and sign out process.

QUALITY

  • Supports the quality improvement activities of the facility and responds appropriately to change.
  • Participates in learning experiences as appropriate.
  • Requests supervision when needed and utilizes supervision effectively.
  • Ensures compliance with policy, procedure and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifies communication needs of significant referral sources, physician offices and pharmacies and assures that they receive information in a timely manner

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

Previous experience in health care preferred

Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider by 60 days after hire required
