As a (Senior) Project Engineer you will be part of the Trauma R&D team, helping our customers rebuild lives with your products.  

You will perform implant and instrument design work as well as advance assigned projects through design development. As part of a multifunctional team, you will be responsible to ultimately launch the product into the market. 

What will you do

  • Working on cross-functional design teams to plan and develop new implant and instrument systems for the upper extremities as well as address design issues/maintenance of existing ones. 

  • Responsible for advancing the assigned projects or sub-projects through the entire design development phase until launch. 

  • Interface with clinical advisors to gather input for design and evaluation of new products 

  • Modeling and detailing of implant and instrumentation designs utilizing CAD software 

  • Development of prototypes for design verification and validation 

  • Drawing creation for new product designs in close collaboration with production experts to ensure design for manufacturing principles 

  • Utilization and Management of the Design Control in an Agile Project Management Framework 

  • Technical report writing  

 

What will you need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Science, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar. 

  • Understanding of design controls within a regulated industry 

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written); German language skills are appreciated 

Preferred:

  • Prior work experience/internships in the medical device industry

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of product or process design experience for Senior Project Engineer Position

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives from concept through release

  • Experience with a parametric CAD design package, Creo preferred
