The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for an experienced developer to join us as a Senior Software Engineer in our growing Accelerator team to build the GPU/Accelerator infrastructure that supports AI/ML and GPU compute frameworks. In this role, you will help build, support, develop and maintain the GPU and Accelerator-related components for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). You will work across the organization to create the foundation for our layered products, such as Red Hat OpenShift AI and RHEL AI. These primary components include Accelerator frameworks, such as oneAPI and ROCm, as well as support libraries and tools necessary to build hardware-accelerator AI frameworks, such as PyTorch. You will be a key part of our AI, GPU and Accelerator organization that integrates hardware support for the components throughout the AI/ML stack from the high-level frameworks down to the device drivers in the kernel. We're open to candidates in the Americas with preference to those who would be willing to relocate to Boston.
What you will do
Build, support, develop and maintain the GPU/Accelerator infrastructure for AI/ML and GPU compute frameworks
Participate in and collaborate with the GPU/Accelerator upstream communities, including working directly with the hardware vendors engineers
Optimize the GPU/Accelerator infrastructure to maximize the performance of the GPU compute stack
Work closely with key stakeholders within Red Hat who will use the infrastructure you build to accelerate AI/ML frameworks, such as PyTorch
What you will bring
Expertise in C/C++, Python, Rust and Linux scripting tools
Upstream development experience with the internals of the GPU compute stack, such as oneAPI, ROCm or CUDA
Familiarity with the drm subsystem in the Linux kernel
Experience developing Linux kernel device drivers
Ability to work Hybrid from Boston MA, Lowell MA or Raleigh NC
The following are considered a plus
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; Master's degree or PhD is a big plus
Experience in operating system integration and tooling; RHEL experience is a big plus
Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow or similar AI/ML platforms
Knowledge of Git version control system
Passion for developing open source/FOSS solutions
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
