About your new role

An exciting leadership opportunity exists for an experienced Theatre Nurse Unit Manager to join our professional, dynamic, and growing Surgical Services team in our state-of-the-art theatre complex at Fitzroy.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Lead the commissioning of brand-new operating theatres

  • Oversee the day-to-day operational management of the Theatre Department.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure exceptional patient care and optimal service delivery.

  • Partner closely with the Surgical Services Manager to achieve key performance indicators, deliver strategic objectives, and drive business growth.

This is a full-time, 38-hour-per-week position that offers a rare opportunity to shape the future of Theatre Services at SVPHM.

About you

You are a Registered Nurse (AHPRA) with:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in theatre management or leadership

  • Post-graduate qualifications (completed or in progress)

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and quality improvement

Your key strengths include:

  • Managing the operational and clinical performance of a busy theatre unit

  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with staff, VMPs, and patients

  • Providing direction, coaching, and support to nursing and support teams

  • Managing budgets and analysing performance data to inform decision-making
