Summary

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager at NRG Park in Houston, Texas.  NRG Park is in the fast lane for opportunity and excitement.  We are a one-of-a-kind premier facility with four major venues within one giant park.  NRG Center (one million+ sq. ft. Convention Center), NRG Stadium (home of the Houston Texans and The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo), NRG Astrodome (“The” Astrodome), and NRG Arena.  Under general supervision of the Director of Finance, the FP&A Manager works closely with all Finance and Accounting operational financial matters including, but not limited to analyzing financial data, departmental financial reporting with key stakeholders, and supervising department staff.  Also, acts as liaison between the facility and clients, ensuring all clients’ requirements are met and facility rules, regulations and policies are adhered to.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following:

  • Analyze large data sets of financial data to identify key drivers and trends that impact financial performance.

  • Assist in identification of new revenue opportunities in collaboration with key stakeholders.

  • Assist in review of pricing strategies and work with key stakeholders to optimize revenue opportunities in areas such as premium inventory, parking, and exhibitor services.

  • Serve as Program Administrator of ASM Global INSIGHTS (Powered by Qualtrics) and lead internal survey initiatives.

  • Design, develop and maintain reports and dashboards using data visualization tools to support department reporting requirements.

  • Collaborate with departmental budget owners to optimize allocation of resources and maximize efficiencies.

  • Assist with ASM Global corporate reporting.

  • Assist in preparation of quarterly forecasting and long-range planning initiatives.

  • Assist with monthly closing process.

  • Provide data, reports, and other information to assist in the preparation of the annual budget.

  • Participate in ad-hoc projects or information accumulation as requested by management.

  • Assist with event settlements as needed.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM Global's policies and applicable laws.

  • Know and apply standard accounting principles, financial control procedures, computerized accounting systems/software, and financial management.

  • Be familiar with business law, insurance, personnel management, and procedures of purchasing.

  • Apply principles and techniques of organization, budget, supervision, training, personnel development, scheduling, and maintaining financial/statistical records.

  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.

  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.

Education and/or Experience      

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting or Finance is required.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in Accounting or Finance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Experience working with and analyzing large data sets preferred.

  • Experience designing and writing primary research surveys a plus.

Skills and Abilities

  • Work effectively under pressure and produce accurate results.

Computer Skills  

  • Operate standard office equipment and personal computer(s) using MS 365 Apps.

  • Strong foundation in Excel.

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau a plus.

  • Experience with Microsoft D365 or similar ERP system a plus.

  • Experience with ADP, Workday or similar payroll system and ABI a plus.

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to work irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends, and holidays.
