Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an API Operations Engineer.  

Reporting to the API Production Leader, the Operations Engineer provides day-to-day engineering support to the Factory Tank Farm and Finishing/Spray Dryer Facility areas.

The incumbent plays a key leadership role and must combine expert knowledge in manufacturing operations with good leadership ability. The incumbent must be self-motivated and have a proven track record in Operations. Continuously identifies opportunities for improving productivity to facilitate better than profit plan performance during the production year and increasing the sites capacity for future years.

What you will do:

Bring energy, knowledge, innovation and leadership to carry out the following:

  • Provide Technical support for Tank Farm including

a. Scheduling of the operations

b. Tank Farm Allocations

c. Waste Management

  • Provide Technical support for Finishing/Spray Dryer Facility including

a. Planning & Scheduling of the operations

b. Ownership of subdivision activities including co-ordination & documentation

c. Delegate to finishing/spray dryer facility manager

  • Provide technical/operational expertise on continuous improvement projects
  • Mentor engineers in the Process Technical Group in equipment and operations so they achieve more hands-on knowledge.
  • Provides support to meet finishing/spray dryer facility production and turnaround schedules through coordination and escalation of key activities through the Tier System.

What skills you will need:

In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:

  • B. Eng Degree in Chemical and Process Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years industrial experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification required – minimum yellow belt certification
  • Leadership
  • Conflict resolution
  • Decision making
  • Process descriptions, cycle times, cost standards, operations, equipment requirements etc.
  • Financial Management
  • SAP/MES
