Position Summary

As a Software Engineer on the MinuteClinic team, you will contribute to building modern, scalable, and reliable software solutions that directly support millions of patients, clinicians, and staff. You will play an active role in our transformation as we re-platform our technology stack and introduce AI-driven development practices to enhance quality and velocity.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain core application features, collaborating with product, design, and architecture teams to deliver impactful solutions. You will be expected to take initiative, solve problems independently, and continuously expand your technical skills as our ecosystem evolves.

A successful Software Engineer in this environment is self-motivated, action-oriented, and committed to ongoing learning—consistently adopting new tools, technologies, and engineering approaches to strengthen team capabilities and improve patient and clinician experiences.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience using modern languages such as Java, Kotlin, Python, C#, or TypeScript.

  • Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, API design, and distributed systems concepts.

  • Experience building applications or services deployed in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

  • Ability to take ownership—breaking down requirements, proposing solutions, and delivering features from design to production.

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, including staying up to date with new frameworks, cloud services, and AI-assisted development tools.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in Agile, cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building software in healthcare, clinical workflows, or other regulated environments.

  • Familiarity with microservices architecture, event-driven systems, or cloud-native development.

  • Exposure to healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR or HL7.

  • Experience contributing to design discussions or mentoring early-career engineers.

  • Understanding of observability (logging, metrics, tracing) and performance optimization.

  • Exposure to front-end frameworks (React, Angular) or mobile development environments.

  • Experience using AI tools (e.g., code assistants, test generation, workflow automation) to accelerate development.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline required.

  • Equivalent practical experience considered.
