Accountant I 

 
Job Summary 
The Accountant I responsibilities include maintaining, posting, and balancing accounting and financial statements, records, documents, or reports. They collaborate with other departments to address discrepancies, prepare reports, and assist in budget planning and auditing processes. 
 

Reports to: Director, Finance/Controller 
 
Job Specific Responsibilities 
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to: 

Maintain accurate financial records, including posting transactions and reconciling accounts. 

Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets. 

Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies. 

Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation. 

Handle routine accounting tasks related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. 

 
Education and Experience 

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. 

Entry-level position; minimal experience required. 

 
Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations 
N/A 
 
Skills and Abilities 

Proficiency in basic accounting principles and practices. 

Attention to detail and accuracy. 

Strong organizational and time management skills. 

Ability to work with financial software and spreadsheets. 

 
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships 
Collaborate with colleagues in finance, procurement, and other relevant departments. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. 
 
Physical Capabilities 
Position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, talking on a phone, and working on a computer. Essential hearing and near vision acuity required. Should be able to lift up to 20 pounds, push, pull, and stooping required at times. 
 
Environmental/Working Conditions 
Work area is in an office environment, well lit, and subject to varying indoor temperatures.
