Senior Director, Procurement & Supplier Development

Position Overview
The Senior Director, Global Procurement Operations & Supplier Development is a purpose-driven executive leader responsible for building and stewarding a global, scalable, and resilient supply network that reflects doTERRA’s commitment to quality, integrity, wellness, and responsible sourcing.
This role provides strategic leadership across global procurement, supplier development, and contract manufacturing, spanning ingredients, packaging, components, and finished goods. The Senior Director ensures the supply base enables sustainable growth, innovation, speed-to-market, and long-term value creation while embedding ethical sourcing and sustainability into how work gets done.
Partnering closely with R&D, Product Management, Packaging Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Planning, Inventory Control, Fulfillment and International. This leader aligns people, processes, systems, data, and supplier partnerships to meet current business needs and support future growth.
What You’ll Do
Lead with Purpose and Strategy
Lead a global procurement and supplier development organization as a trusted partner to key stakeholders and the enterprise overall
Develop and execute a cohesive global procurement strategy aligned with business objectives, growth plans, and dōTERRA’s mission and values
Build leadership capability, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness across teams
Translate strategy into disciplined, executable plans with clear priorities and accountability
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Partnerships
Develop global and regional sourcing strategies for contract manufacturing, ingredients, raw materials, packaging, and components
Balance cost stewardship with quality, innovation, continuity of supply, and responsible sourcing
Identify, qualify, and develop contract manufacturing and strategic suppliers aligned with dōTERRA’s standards
Lead advanced negotiations and apply total cost of ownership thinking to drive long-term value
Innovation & New Product Enablement
Partner with R&D, Product Management, Packaging Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and suppliers to enable responsible innovation
Influence formulation, packaging, sourcing, and manufacturing decisions to ensure scalability, compliance, and speed-to-market
Leverage supplier capabilities to support disciplined, high-quality product commercialization
Quality, Compliance & Risk
Ensure procurement activities meet FDA, cGMP, regulatory, and internal quality requirements
Oversee supplier qualification, auditing, risk mitigation, and continuity planning
Protect supply resilience while maintaining uncompromising quality and integrity
Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability
Embed sustainability, ethical sourcing, and impact as core pillars of procurement strategy and execution
Translate UEBT commitments and other responsible sourcing frameworks into measurable goals across global value chains
Expand responsible sourcing standards beyond essential oils into packaging, components, raw materials, and contract manufacturing
Operations, Data & Systems
Align procurement systems, data governance, and supply chain execution across planning, sourcing, packaging, and manufacturing support
Leverage SAP, ERP platforms, and supplier management tools to improve visibility, decision-making, and execution
Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, responsiveness, and scalability
People & Culture
Build, mentor, and lead a globally distributed team
Foster a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning
Lead with humility, influence without authority, and model dōTERRA’s values
What You Bring
Experience & Leadership
15+ years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, and/or operations
10+ years of senior leadership experience in Nutritional Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Personal Care, or regulated CPG manufacturing
Proven experience managing global contract manufacturers and complex supplier ecosystems
Demonstrated success integrating sustainability and responsible sourcing into procurement operations
Education & Expertise
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or related field
Master’s degree or MBA strongly preferred
CPM, SCM, or similar professional certification preferred
Extensive experience with SAP or other major ERP platforms
Strong working knowledge of FDA regulations, cGMP, supplier qualification, and audit practices
Advanced negotiation, strategic planning, and financial acumen
