The Opportunity

The Occupational therapy team at Central Maine Medical Center is seeking an experienced Acute Care/Acute Rehab Occupational Therapist for a PRN opportunity on the inpatient team.

This position makes a direct positive impact on the Lewiston community by providing therapy services to CMMC’s inpatient population.

What You’ll Do

  • Evaluate inpatients and develop a comprehensive treatment plan to restore these patients to their maximum functional potential, according to acceptable principles and practices of occupational therapy.

  • Direct therapeutic intervention for the restoration of patient’s functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability.

  • Provide care to patients in the acute care setting.

  • Assist patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.

  • Collaborate as a member of the healthcare team for the provision of comprehensive patient care.

  • Consistent with training and competency review, provides care to Inpatient pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.  

  • Maintains training and competency as applicable in regulatory requirements such as JCAHO (if applicable), and state and federal regulations and standards.

  • Coordinate, delegate and supervise responsibilities assigned to assistants, aides, etc.

  • The staff therapist participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in PI activities.

  • Strong written and verbal skills.

  • Basic computer skills.

Requirements and Qualifications for the Position

  • Current State Occupational Therapy Licensure.

  • Current BCLS certification.
