Position Overview:

Analog Devices is seeking a Software/Firmware Engineer based in Limerick, Ireland who will develop, maintain and support high performant and production-quality embedded software/firmware, device drivers and evaluation software for Industrial Radar and Frequency Generation products.  The Frequency Generation product portfolio of this strategy consists of a range of large clock distribution and synchronization products and RF Phase Locked Loops (PLL) with integrate Voltage Controlled Oscillators in a wide range of different markets and applications.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Firmware, Device Drivers and evaluation GUIs for Frequency Generation and Industrial Radar parts.
  • Support external and internal customers using these products as part of an Applications Engineering team.
  • Collaborate with hardware designers, quality engineers, and UX designers to develop and maintain software through the complete product life cycle.

Expected Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or related fields with 2-5 years of industry experience.
  • Excellent C/C++ skills.
  • Proficient in any desktop application programming language (Preferrable but not required)
  • Excellent debugging skills both hardware and software
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
  • Hands on Experience with RTOS with microcontroller programming.
  • Excellent understanding of schematic and product datasheets.
  • Experience with the Build tools (GCC, Make, Cmake etc.)
  • Experience in developing device drivers.
  • Experience of GUIs and PC based(C#) application software.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, and low-level communication peripherals (including SPI, I2C, TDM, UART, CAN, etc.)
  • Experience using embedded and desktop development tools.
  • Proficiency with continuous integration systems (e.g. Jenkins, Gitlab), Source code control systems (e.g. git, Gitlab, Bitbucket, svn)

Proficiency with scripting languages (preferably Python and bash)

  • Proficiency with Linux based systems.
  • Independent, yet capable of working effectively in a multi-location international team.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a proactive, can-do attitude.

Nice to Have:

  • Hands on Experience with the lab equipment for debugging (Oscilloscope, Spectrum analyzer, etc.)
  • Experience with RF IC programming and understanding of RF concepts.
