Role : Senior Data Quality Analyst

The Team : The Data Quality team plays a pivotal role in the S&P Global Commodity Insight’s strategic transformation from a traditional data organization into a next generation data intelligence organization. In this role as a Senior Data Quality Analyst, you will strive to improve relevant dimensions of data quality for critical data assets, ensuring the availability of high quality, trusted data across the organization. The role will collaborate with stakeholders, analysts and team members on an international level.

The Impact : These efforts are occurring within the broader context of major strategic initiatives to extend our market leadership and build next-generation market data, insights and analytics products that are powered by our world class datasets. In short, the Senior Data Quality Analyst will be a primary contributor in the execution of organizational and operational change driving our linked data and data mining strategy, while working with cutting edge technology. 

Responsibilities:

  • In this role you will be responsible for day-to-day operational execution of data quality priorities including the management of data quality rules, anomaly detection and validation, coordination of issue resolution processes, and capturing metrics
  • Collaborate with data subject matter experts both on the business and technical side to translate business requirements into data quality requirements, validate data quality results, and coordinate issue resolution and escalation
  • Partner with technical teams to prioritize data sets for ingestion into data quality tooling and ensure data quality profiling and monitoring setup per defined best practices
  • Within data quality tooling, review out-of-box data quality profiling results, author and execute reusable custom data quality rules
  • Capture data-driven metrics to demonstrate business value and bring visibility to improvement opportunities
  • Pursue data quality integration and automation opportunities at data ingestion points, as well as within internal applications and dashboards
  • Contribute to the maturity of the organization's data quality and governance standards by continually improving best practices, and contributing to methods and strategies to systematically advance data platforms and capabilities
  • As new projects are instantiated, influence and advocate for proactively achieving fit-for-purpose data quality and strategic data quality program objectives
  • Engage with stakeholders and data stewards through knowledge sharing and lessons learned, training, and education
  • Investigate industry and trends within data quality and the broader data management discipline

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working within the data management discipline with data quality experience including data profiling, rule development and automation, data quality dimension standardization, monitoring, workflow creation, and issue remediation
  • 2+ years of experience with any Data quality tools soda.io (preferred) or similar tooling such Great Expectations, Informatica IDQ etc
  • Proficiency in SQL for working directly with data in databases.
  • Strong experience in Python/pyspark programming for data analysis and automation.
  • Strong experience with Power BI Reporting tool.
  • Having working knowledge on Airflow is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Familiar with the agile development life cycle framework and related tooling such as Jira or Rally.
  • Work effectively as a part of an international team as well as a strong capacity to work independently with accountability, adaptability, and a sense of urgency
  • Thrive in complex, fast paced environments in which ambiguity may exist
