Micron research and development has an opening for Yield Analysis (YA) engineer to develop our next generation memory solution and to support production transfer for Micron products. We are looking for candidate that is passionate to innovate in data analytics, and curious to ask "what, how and why"? In this role you will be responsible for providing key feedback and direction on how to improve yield for next future NAND and DRAM memory technology! We need engineers who are passionate about detecting problems, making changes for the better, and seek out innovative ways in how predict what will happen. This role requires a high degree of collaboration across virtually all company functions, up to and including the Executive level.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Review and analyze experimental data looking for device performance shift
  • Possess a continuous improvement process (CIP) mentality, looking for ways to improve measurement accuracy and make a difference today!
  • Develop new tools for data analysis and implement machine learning technique to improve analysis efficiency and accuracy
  • Build and improve upon techniques and identify new creative and innovative ways to use existing tools in order to identify relevant process issues
  • Recognize, identify, and raise awareness of process anomalies with the motivation of "who needs to know this now!"
  • Use the data collected inline to drive process improvements
  • Work with new detection tools and inspection strategies to localize and identify process issues with the mentality of "how can this improve this process?"
  • We expect active participation in technical meetings and then synthesize from it new opportunities or novel sophisticated approaches
  • Increase yield by standardizing methods & procedures to promote consistent, comparable and repeatable processes
  • Track progress of yield improvement items and timely corrective actions to deviations from plan
  • Lead or participate in multi-area focus teams to solve sophisticated yield issues

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Excellent technical, communication, and analytical skills
  • Proficient data analysis, and statistical techniques skills.
  • Good understanding of semiconductor processing
  • Demonstrated expertise in CMOS operation and understanding on memory cell operation
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis in a succinct and actionable manner
  • Ability to be detailed oriented and follow complex procedures
  • Programming skills, including JavaScript, Python, R, and SQL
  • Ability to work effectively with other department to propel program strategy and initiatives
  • The ability to continuously learn and self-improve
  • Ability to lead and coordinate discussion forum of multi-functional teams

Education: 

PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Microelectronics.

BS degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
