Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced T-SQL Developer to lead the development and optimization of high-quality SQL Server database solutions. The successful candidate will design efficient database structures, develop complex queries and procedures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance business processes. This role is essential in supporting data-driven decision-making, system performance, and maintaining best practices across the organization’s data infrastructure.
Software Requirements
Required Skills:
Strong proficiency in T-SQL (SQL Server 2016/2019 or higher), including writing stored procedures, functions, and complex queries
Expertise in database optimization, indexing, and query tuning for high performance
Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and Data Tools
Familiarity with relational database design, normalization, and data modeling
Knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
Preferred Skills:
Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Azure SQL Database or Azure Synapse
Knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell or Python for automation
Exposure to other database systems (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) is a plus
Overall Responsibilities
Develop, test, and optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support enterprise applications and analytics
Design and implement database structures, indexes, and query strategies to maximize performance and data integrity
Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient database solutions
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend improvements for query and database design
Implement best practices for database development, security, and disaster recovery
Participate in peer code reviews, testing, and deployment of data solutions
Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of new data platform tools and technologies
Document database schemas, processes, and best practices for ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing

Programming Languages:
Essential: T-SQL (SQL Server)

Essential: Indexing strategies, query tuning, stored procedure development

Demonstrated success in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies
Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and data engineers
Industry experience in finance, healthcare, or large-scale enterprise systems is desirable; other data-driven industries also acceptable
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts to support application data needs
Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and analysts to design database schemas and data models
Monitor database performance, resolve bottlenecks, and implement indexing or query improvements
Support data integration activities and data quality initiatives
Participate in code reviews, deployment planning, and performance testing
Document database architectures, processes, and best practices for team use
Evaluate new database tools and techniques to improve efficiency and scalability
Troubleshoot and resolve data issues impacting system performance or reporting
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields; Master’s degree preferred
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, or equivalent, are advantageous
Proven experience managing enterprise-level SQL Server databases and supporting data operations
