Allina Health has a robust Mental Health and Addiction Clinical Service Line that offers the full continuum of care including integration, specialty outpatient clinics, addiction, co-occurring services, partial hospitalization, day treatment, emergency, and inpatient care.

Key Position Details:

As an Emergency Psychiatrist, you will deliver care and offer safety to patients in serious mental health crises.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Remotely supports the Allina Health system’s 12 EDs (can work remotely from home and come to specific sites as needed or preferred)
  • Daily touch base to review and prioritize patient needs
  • Weekly peer consults
  • Partner with an interdisciplinary team including MHCC (Mental Health Crisis Clinicians), ED providers and nursing, site psychiatric team nursing and other clinical team members
  • Option to work 8s or 10s and no on-call expectation  
  • Required to work one weekend per month (Sat/Sun)

Job Description:

Job Requirements

  • MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required
  • BE/BC with ABMS or AOA required
  • Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable
