Position Information:

  • This is an onsite position in Pontiac, IL.
  • Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.

Role Definition:

This position will manage the order scheduling and production planning for the Aftertreatment products of the Pontiac facility. This person will be in constant contact with customers in order to identify their priorities as well as future needs. They will be sharing the input from customers to Operations team and follow up with the Supply team making sure that all materials are available to build and execute the production plan. This person will follow up on order status, shipping dates and will be in charge of the Caterpillar Shipping Delivery Performance metric for Aftertreatment Product Line.

What You Will Do:

  • Analyzing and troubleshooting planned production scheduling problems; recommending process improvements to optimize the scheduling process.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve product-related issues and incorporate customer and business requirements.
  • Owning and driving production schedules; reviewing workflow of production workers, inventory levels, capacity constraints, machine breakdowns, product quality, etc. to ensure operational excellence.

  • Locates useful information and sources of input used in weekly, monthly and quarterly forecasts.
  • Researches seasonal trends for a major product or product line.

Production Scheduling and Control: Knowledge of procedures and tools for scheduling and controlling production runs; ability to utilize knowledge of daily manufacturing processes to assure quality deliverables.

  • Manages the job cycle to ensure completion of jobs according to agreed-upon schedules.
  • Communicates with customers and sales staff on scheduled and unscheduled production work.
  • Schedules and oversees all production runs for a specific plant or assembly line.
  • Produces master schedules for overall plant activities; shows all dependencies and contingencies.
  • Oversees production acceptance testing and associated performance measures.

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
