The Senior IT Project Manager will be responsible for all the project management needs of a dynamic team, in a hybrid cloud environment across the Enterprise Infrastructure & Technology Platforms portfolio. The ideal candidate will be posses a strong background in managing large-scale infrastructure and cloud transformation projects with a proven track record of delivering on time and within budget.   This role requires exceptional leadership, collaboration, and risk mitigation skills, as well as the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. McKesson is looking for a seasoned candidate to support existing projects as well as introduce new practices and processes based on latest trends and market demands. This role will require strong communication, organization, self-learning, and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing multiple projects involving department or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery. 

  • Plans and directs schedules as well as project budgets. Monitors the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with customer on technical and non-technical matters.

  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals. Organizes interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the product/program/project on schedule and within budget constraints.

  • Work closely with stakeholders, including IT, operations, finance, and external vendors, to ensure project alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.

  • Manages Risks by identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks, developing contingency plans as necessary to ensure project success.

  • Allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of project teams and materials.

  • Responsible and accountable for planning and allocating resources, preparing budgets, implementation, delivery, and monitoring progress of a specific project or several projects within an organization, along with keeping stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle, using various project development and management tools and methodologies.

  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.

  • Drives team to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.

  • Responsible for ensuring the Scrum process is understood and the team adheres to Agile theory, practice, and guidelines.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and team building skills, business judgment, and proven expertise in directing the efforts of a technical staff

  • Identify, suggest and collaborate with development and product owner on measurable improvements for the team(s)

  • Ability to manage the dependencies between team capacity, prioritization, budget, software quality and committed deadlines

  • Maintains comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk logs, and post-project evaluations. 

  • Provides executive level communications status reporting.

  • Experience working in an environment utilizing current and leading-edge technologies and engineering practices

Minimum requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager leading complex portfolios

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Master’s degree or PMP certification is desirable. 

Excellent written and verbal communication skill

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$105,200 - $175,300
