Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for an Inventory Analyst I to join our Supply Chain team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. What does an Inventory Analyst I do for us?
Manage inventory commodities and set inventory stocking levels at warehouse facilities using analytical stocking models. Receive and evaluate material requisitions and electronic reorder notices within Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to validate accuracy, need date, material availability, and scheduling.
Generate and approve purchase requisitions to fulfill material requirements. Support communication of the availability of material to regional work managers, foremen, and project managers and follows-up on material issues as they arise. Assist and support the material and logistic functions in synchronizing these functions with the business unit partners. Proactively communicate inventory concerns. Coordinate with engineers, provide options, coordinate logistics with suppliers and other facilities for emergent/emergency requests including facilitating material requests.
Meet regularly with customer groups to facilitate understanding of material needs and processes. Identify and resolve internal and external issues impacting inventory. Analyze, interpret, and report future requirements to the appropriate procurement team member and supplier.
Demonstrate effective communication abilities with all appropriate internal stakeholder groups as well as suppliers. Represent the business units' needs to other members of the supply team, explaining expectations, evaluating responses, and determining alternative inventory strategy as necessary. Serve as liaison between the customer, Supply Chain personnel, and engineering/design functions when necessary for determining and facilitating material obsolescence, unavailability, or replacement. May serve as a lead contact for assigned customer groups.
Work in a team environment with individuals responsible for analyzing, purchasing, scheduling, stocking, and disposition of inventory.
Optimizes inventory levels using Min/Max settings for assigned commodities. Determines the most appropriate sourcing of requested materials including initiating transfers from existing inventories where possible. Identifies opportunities to reduce inventory through item consolidation, and substitution.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Job requires on limited occasion the ability to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, crawl, twist, kneel, balance, reach, and ascend/descend ladders. Rarely lift shoulder-high and above items weighing up to 50 lbs., occasionally lift waist-high and knee-high items weighing up to 50 lbs.; occasionally carry with one or both hands items weighing up to 50 lbs.; use exertional force of up to 50 lbs. to move boxes or carts of materials. Operate foot and hand controls, grasp tools, and use fine motor coordination for keyboarding. Applicant must be able to perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat of harm to self, others, or property.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to be on call for storm or other emergencies and/or work extended hours to provide emergency coverage. Travel periodically (local, out-of-town, out-of-state) with occasional overnight stays as required. Additional safety related training may be required.
