AGS:DEG:APG is expanding its business in South East Asia, and requires a UX Designer to work with Chinese-speaking internal teams and on customer-facing products in China, Taiwan, and Singapore. This resource will work on new products being developed in the MES product suite, as well as expand our capabilities to support adjacent markets such as Solar.
Applied Materials is seeking a qualified technically-adept UX Designer for our South East Asia development efforts, fluent in Mandarin Chinese and experienced in designing for manufacturing-related software products. All Applied Materials UX Designers participate in both sides of user experience design – shaping the user experience objectives through research and documentation, as well as visual interaction design through screen layout and graphic design.
Key Responsibilities
- Creates user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction behaviors
- Helps refine the interaction architecture, user interface, GUI features, and end-to-end end user experience for new feature functionality
- Participates in product UX Design reviews and provides critique and feedback
- Assesses and optimizes the effectiveness of new and existing product features by actively participating in usability testing and user research and interpreting analytical data
- Collaborates with Software Engineers and Product Marketing Managers to translate product requirements into use cases and pixel-perfect screen designs in a collaborative environment
- Participates in daily Agile scrums to iterate in design sprints to meet time, budget and quality goals set by UX Design managers
- Reports to their Product Owner and PM for scheduling, Agile management resource allocation and project planning of UX resources
- Reports to the UX Design Manager for visual and usability quality, excellence in user experience solutions, and adherence to UI design standards
- Collaborates with and takes software functionality guidance from Subject Matter Experts and UI Dev Leads in translating requirements into use cases for GUI and user experience solutions
- Interfaces with software development version control systems and graphic library archiving in a responsible manner - to maintain centralized source code and design assets
Requirements:
- Possess the ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications
- Have passion for collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model, to regularly deliver design solutions for approval
- Will be required to use UX Design software applications such as Adobe XD, Figma, Miro, Zeplin, Adobe Creative Suite, or other software used by the APG UX Design team
- Will need to possess document-writing skills to write user stories and design guidelines documentation
