  • Improve and maintain Spend Management’s accounting features and integrations
  • Generate technical diagrams and documentation to communicate design options and trade-offs and educate development teams and other stakeholders
  • Conduct code reviews, promote code quality, and ensure adherence to coding standards. This role is mainly focused on hands-on development.
  • Provide technical leadership and be a role model and mentor to engineers

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Five to six years of relevant experience

What you bring to the role

  • 2+ years of demonstrated track record on leading projects as a backend engineer
  • Expert coding skills in Java, Spring Framework, and persistence technology are necessary.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to function in a demanding environment
  • Ability to grasp new product features early in their development cycle when documentation is often limited or non-existent
  • Expertise in creating schemas and writing efficient SQL queries on a relational database
  • Experience with software monitoring tools such as Splunk, CloudWatch, Datadog, Kibana, etc.
  • Experience working in an agile development (Scrum) environment with a customer-centric mindset
  • Ability to work independently yet fully collaborate with remote teams, technical leadership, and architects at the company
  • Strong business understanding to be able to bridge technical and business priorities
