Within the Diabetes Division of Medtronic Italy, the Phygital Training Project Specialist is a professional who, reporting to the Regional Sales Manager and operating within the same reference area, works virtually to educate patients on insulin pump and/or sensor therapy.
Patients, selected by the diabetologist, are referred to the Phygital Training Project Specialist directly by field colleagues (Therapy Sales Specialists).
The Phygital Training Project Specialist serves as the web-based point of reference for patients using our devices—a specialized professional guide for virtual activities, fully competent in the technical aspects of each product.
The role includes approximately 100% virtual patient training
This role requires regular interaction with HCP contacts at the centers and continuous communication with Therapy Sales Specialists, Therapy Training Specialists, Therapy Sales Coordinators, and District Managers to best organize remote support activities.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
• Remote technical training for new patients, followed by a scheduled follow-up process to monitor correct device usage and respond to any doubts/questions.
• Follow-ups and troubleshooting upon request by field colleagues, in coordination with diabetologists and patients, scheduled based on the shared calendar of the Phygital Training Project Specialist.
• Support for physicians and patients in accessing data management platforms (CareLink, MiniMed Mobile, Medtronic Connect, Guardian, Penny, and future applications).
• Technology helpdesk available on specific days of the month and/or via online chat for non-urgent device-related questions or concerns.
• Accompanies or substitutes field colleagues when needed in training activities at diabetes centers, maintaining hands-on experience and contacts with referring diabetologists and staying up to date on training procedures for new Medtronic devices—facilitating the virtual training work.
• Provides feedback on training sessions to field colleagues and regular reports on field activities and relationships with colleagues to the Regional Sales Manager.
• Participates in cluster and area meetings for regular discussions aimed at optimizing and improving virtual training activities.
• Provides suggestions and requests to the Marketing team to develop and refine tools useful for the web-based approach.
• Manages databases (Matrix and GSR) to extract and analyze existing data, helping improve coordination and timing of patient trial periods and pending prescriptions.
• Virtually guiding patients in the correct management and use of devices, in compliance with remote training procedures and guidelines.
• Sharing only technical content related to Medtronic products.
• Avoiding any kind of medical advice or recommendations.
• Acting in accordance with Medtronic’s code of ethics and general common sense.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
• Degree in scientific or humanities disciplines, or proven experience of at least 3 years in the sector.
• Preferably At least 2 years of previous field experience as a technical/commercial trainer in the diabetes field (Insulin Pumps, Advanced Hybrid Closed Loop systems, Standalone RT-CGM) or a Business Support Experience .
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with major web conferencing platforms.
• Category B driving license.
