Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by proactively identifying and resolving issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a dynamic approach to troubleshooting, ensuring smooth operation and minimal disruption to business processes. The professional collaborates with different teams to maintain system integrity and supports continuous improvement efforts to enhance system performance and reliability.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Actively participate in S/4HANA conversion (system conversion/brownfield) projects from planning to go-live and hyper care
Analyze existing SAP SD processes in ECC and identify required changes for S/4HANA compatibility
Work on simplification items, custom code impact analysis, and data consistency checks
Support business teams in adapting to new S/4HANA functionalities (e.g., Business Partner approach, output management, credit management changes)
Handle configuration changes in areas like order-to-cash, pricing, billing, shipping, and credit management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (MM, FI, ABAP, Basis) during conversion activities
Support testing cycles including unit testing, integration testing, and UAT
Troubleshoot issues during and post conversion, ensuring system stability
Prepare functional specifications and work with technical teams for developments
Provide user training and documentation as required
Professional & Technical Skills:
8–9 years of strong experience in SAP SD, including at least one S/4HANA conversion or implementation project
Good understanding of end-to-end Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes
Hands-on experience in pricing, billing, delivery, and output determination
Exposure to S/4HANA changes such as:
- Business Partner integration
- FSCM Credit Management
- S/4HANA output management
- International Trade
Experience in handling interfaces (IDocs, EDI) and basic debugging knowledge
Strong experience in working with functional specifications and coordinating with ABAP team
Familiarity with data migration tools and concepts (LSMW, Migration Cockpit, etc.)
Good understanding of integration with MM and FI modules
Experience in SAP Fiori apps related to SD
Exposure to Agile project environments
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in SAP Sales and Distribution (SD).
- This position is based at our Gurugram office.
